Ethan's music program

Thane, Bry and I got to attend Ethan's music program at school this morning. I told Thane afterwards that I actually thoroughly enjoyed it! Perfect length (30 minutes) and the kids were super cute. Ethan had a speaking part consisting of 2 words (THE RULER!) and got to hold up an audience laugh sign which he has been very excited about for weeks. As I sat at the program two things crossed my mind:
First, how sad I was for any kids that did NOT have parents there. There were a ton of cameras, waves, smiles and "shout-outs" and I was feeling horrible for any of those cute 2nd graders that had to look out in the audience to find....no family. I sure hope there weren't any.

Second, I thought about how lucky I am to have my kiddos and how they are the highlight of my life! There is really nothing I would rather do than attend an elementary school music program. I just sat there and beamed like the dork mom that I am.

Here are pics to document the occassion. ENJOY!!

The famous "LAUGH" sign!

T-shirt and jeans

So I have officially resigned myself to the fact that I will always be a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl. I go shopping with the hopes that I can mix up my wardrobe a bit, and I come home with the exact same stuff that is in my closet! SO....I must love it :) I guess there are worse things in life.....I'll keep rocking the jeans.

Pneumonia

So Thursday night baby Bry started coughing a bit in her sleep. Friday morning she woke up and was pretty mopey, coughing and was doing pretty fast, shallow breaths. Away we go to the Ped office (cuz that is why we have insurance - right?) Get there and they immediately decide she needs a breathing treatment. (She was NOT a fan of the breathing treatment.)

After a few dr.'s listened to. poked, prodded and annoyed her they concluded that she had pneumonia, but we had caught it fairly early.

Away we go to the hospital to get a chest x-ray. Now I love St. Luke's, and I love working there...but I HATE when I am a patient there! Bry once again LOVED (not) being pinned down for two x-rays. She had everyone in the waiting room and office telling her how cute she was, and how sickly she looked all at the same time. Off to pick up her antibiotics and chill at home watching Toy Story 3 (twice - girl loves her Buzz!) and Despicable Me.

I get the call that she did indeed have viral pneumonia. So much for the antibiotics. Fluids and rest are the dr. orders which are a bit difficult for an (almost) two year old! My dr. also kinda figured we would be in the ER by Sat (since my kids are famous for getting sick over the weekend.)

WELL...she had a pretty decent night drinking all the juice she wanted and sleeping in mom's arms. Happy to report no ER! Also happy to report that she is feeling much, much better today. Her breathing is still a bit fast, but she is back to her happy, silly, dancing around self.

She wouldn't wear this mask at the Peds office but now she loves to show everyone!! Cute baby. I hate when my kids are sick!
